Sargodha: An Ahmadi doctor, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmood, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at a private hospital in Sargodha on Friday, according to local sources.
The spokesperson for Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Pakistan, Aamir Mahmood, along with the victim’s family, confirmed the killing. They claimed that Dr. Mahmood had been receiving threats in recent months from anti-Ahmadi groups.
Dr. Mahmood has left a wife, two daughters, and two sons.
According to BBC, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya spokesperson Aamir Mahmood said that Dr. Mahmood is the third Ahmadi individual to be targeted in Pakistan in the past month due to their religious identity.
